    Web Marketing Advice For Writers

    By admin | July 21, 2009

If you’re a writer learning about online marketing, it’s quite possible to become overwhelmed. But never fear. Even though there are many different things for you to learn, if you focus on one thing at a time, you can do it. Once you get your feet wet with making money by writing for web marketing projects, you’ll find it will become vastly easier as you gain experience.

The first thing you must learn starting when you want to make money by writing is that you will learn as you go. Do whatever you have to in order to learn, be careful not to stress out. You will then become a better writer, faster, and you will be far more successful. Keep in mind, too, that help is always available if you get stuck. As an example, you don’t have to remember the spelling and capitalization of common online terms. Links to definitions, spelling and capitalization of important online terms are available many places online. Just bookmark a reliable site and use it when you need it. If all else fails, get a subscription to the Chicago Manual of Style. That will give you a good foundation for your writing.

Yet the grammar, spelling and capitalization rules are only some of the concerns when your writing will be used to make money on the Web. You also want to keep your honesty intact. Good examples of what can happen if you don’t are the Site Build It affiliate reviews. I guess, Site Build It affiliates wrote bogus reviews and got them to the top of the search engines for popular keywords so people woudl be led to buy products and services that may or may not be entirely beneficial. That didn’t go over to well with some online marketers. Many people wrote reviews about the bogus reviews and there was a big upheaval. I too wrote a review because I felt that’s what an online community member should do. In the end, it became clear that the Site Build It situation wasn’t as bad as it first looked although it isn’t the best deal in the world. The lesson I took away from that was that the higher calibre the project, the less likelihood there will be that you’ll get attacked. So, I would have to say that you should definitely evaluate the integrity of a project before you take it on as a writer.
