I have been an internet marketer for over 5 years – and things have changed a great deal in terms of how to how to make money on the internet. There is little doubt in my mind when I say that the easiest ways to make money online is through affiliate marketing and adsense. Many people will say you need PPC to succeed online – I dont agree. Sure if you have cash to burn its worth a try – but for newbies you can get seriously burnt – I recommend you avoid it a t first.
Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is without doubt the easiest way to make money on the internet. Basically affiliate marketing is promoting someone else’s product for which you receive a commission if the product is sold via your link. The largest affiliate network is Clickbank – and you will get paid every 2 weeks directly into your bank account. Affiliate marketing is dead easy – you create a simple 1 page site or blog promoting a product – you link to the product site via your affiliate link – and you get paid commission every time someone purchases via your link. You dont have to worry about customer support as the product takes care of this.
And Google Adsense?
Adsense is the term loosely applied to having advertising on a content based website, which you receive money for every time someone clicks on one of the ads. Without doubt the most popular network is Google Adsense – there are other networks such as Yahoo which have a similar offering.
The secret to adsense is simply writing quality articles of about 500 words in length and building a site on them. You can also get PLR articles which are ready written articles you just need to edit and re-submit as your own. You can also hire a copywriter to write articles for you if you have a bit of money to spare. Probably the most important aspect to make money online with Adsense is the selection of the niche. You want a high traffic niche with minimal competition so that you can easily get good positions on the search engines.

Now traffic is something I am going to go into in my future articles, however for the purpose of this article I just wanted to highlight the differences between free and paid traffic (PPC). There are various ways you can drive traffic to your site – some of the best ways to day are:

The key to driving free traffic is the creation of original fresh content, which is written from the readers point of view and clearly states the reason they need your product – and should click through your content to do so. That about sums it up – there are no quick fixes – you need to put the time into quality content and the rewards will follow.
As I mentioned earlier you can get burnt big time with PPC if you lack experience. It takes a while to truly understand PPC, and if you dont know what you are doing, you can easily burn wads of cash. The PPC competition on Google for affiliate marketing products is often fierce – as is the average CPC. You are much better taking the time to learn the free methods and move on to PPC when you start making some money online.

Things have definitely changed in terms of how to make money online. I am confident in saying that affiliate marketing and adsense are the fastest ways to achieve this. The key to this is ongoing quality content with backlinks to your site. I advise against using PPC initially as many newcomers experiment with it – get burnt – and give up all together.
