    There are plenty of different ways that people describe drop shipping businesses and what the role of a wholesale supplier in this market it. If you have a drop shipping business plan, it’s important that you see the ins and out of what this means and the process that are involved in doing business in this manner.

    In fact, a drop shipping business service is often a part of a wholesale supplier business as an optional service which is offered to clients who do business in methods that support drop shipping. Most wholesale suppliers don’t do any form of marketing as they simply make their profit out of acquiring bulk at low pricea and reselling on in smaller quantities – if they were involved in the marketing and promotional process, the cost of the items would be much higher which would affect upon the complete retail chain, including the end customer.

    In their most basic form, a wholesale supplier needs to purchase items cheap enough that they can then sell to retailers at a profit, but also at a low enough price that ensures the retailer can also make a profit. The major fault that lies here is that there is a shipping cost associated with sending the item to the retailer, and then an extra cost applied when the retailer sends the item to the customer.

    This is especially true for online businesses and catalogues, and the cost of the shipping and storage by the retailer is usually added into the item price. Now, let’s look at that in a different way. What this means is that the amount which is charged by the wholesale supplier to deliver the item to the retailer is actually an unnecessary cost which affects the retailers profits. If the retailer didn’t have to put up this initial shipping fee, and also harbor the cost of storing the items, they could make more money, or offer the item to their customers at a discounted price.

    This is where the shipping business plan comes into play. Wholesale suppliers realized that they have the option to offer a storage and shipping service to their customers, as it was something that they were doing anyway. So for a small cost, instead of shipping the merchandise to the retailer, they simply ship the merchandise direct to the customer whenever an order is made.

    It’s a process which saves time and money and makes the most of the wholesale supplier and retailer’s business strengths. Of course, and additional up side for the retailer is that they don’t have to purchase any stock until a product has been sold. That means that they are also free from issues such as overstocks and price reductions for slow selling items.

    Working with a wholesale supplier with a shipping business plan is the way that many large companies make exceedingly good profits on a monthly basis. Many of the traditional costs of doing business are thrown out the window and the opportunity for growth is endless, which is why wholesale drop shipping is exactly where all the smart money lies.
