Designing An Effective Email Lead Page

    By racer48 | October 22, 2008

Squeeze pages, also referred to as lead generator pages, are a very useful tool for any internet marketer.

Squeeze pages are very, very single minded pages. Their aim is to get someone to sign up to your email list. After that, you can market to them to your heart's content. But you need them to sign up to your list first!

First up, choose a template for your squeeze page. You can find these on the web either for free or for a small charge. The free option is OK if your market isn't saturated. Don't use them for more competitive markets such as dieting, day trading, internet marketing and even dog training. If you don't do this, there's a high chance that your potential customer will have encountered a near-identical squeeze page so many times before, they're bored with it. Which means they'll be more likely to click away.

Then modify your template. As a minimum, you will need to add in a headline relevant to your offer and some "selly" bullet points. You may also want to split test your headlines to make sure that you’re getting the maximum number of sign-ups. Some people report results in the order of 70% and more sign-ups from their squeeze pages.

You can also test other elements on your lead generation page. Most of the time, people report that they get better results when they add audio messages to their squeeze pages. Test audio. Also test whether you get better results if the message starts to play as soon as a visitor gets to your squeeze page.

Nowadays, video is being used more and more on squeeze pages. One very good system is to use a video on the landing page that only shows part one. Make it clear that the second part is only made available to people who part with their email address. If you want to take this path, make sure you leave your readers with a "cliff hanger" at the end of part one. Just like the ones they used to have om Saturday mornings at the movies. Or if you're too young for that, think of any episode of the television series "24". Leave your viewer desperate for more. Which they'll get in return for their email address.

You can get your squeeze pages designed at the click of a button with this simple lead page generator.
